A Stovetop Simmer Recipe

How is Monday feeling to you this morning? I am working from home for part of today. While I have a more active afternoon, it is a lovely thing to be able to sit by the fire and see to the tasks before me. I have just completed my official "power hour" that I use to plan my the week's dinner menu, grocery list, miscellaneous errands, work time, and exercise.

The darkness of winter can be an adjustment to the most stalwart of morning people. And so, I enjoy the lights of the nearby tree, the warmth of the fire, and the smell of a nearby simmering mix that is so simple to make. The natural fragrance of the orange, apple, cinnamon, and cloves blend together in the best way.

Here is the easy recipe.

Fall/Winter Simmering Mix

1 orange, cut into slices

1/2 apple, cut into slices

2-3 cinnamon sticks

2 t. whole cloves

Add 1 C of water. Simmer on low for hours (just keep refilling the water as needed).

May you enjoy this simple addition of coziness to your home!
