Overcoming Religious Shame and Scrupulosity - Marc Oslund

Marc spent most of his young adult life and the entirety of his time in the Mormon church trying to fit in. After converting to Mormonism, Marc’s tendency to be hard on himself grew into scrupulosity--a form of religious OCD that made his self-worth plummet. After years of suffering, Marc acquired skills that aligned with principles of innate worth, shame resilience, mindfulness, self-compassion that allowed him to overcome his scrupulosity. This episode conveys Marc’s experience ending the hustle to find worth and the lessons learned in the process of coming home to himself.
